ok so after some changes in a family situation we had to nix the new york idea.
this is what we are thinking now:
philadelphia
at the stotesbury mansion on rittenhouse square
tommy gunns bbq for dinner buffet style (their bbq portobello mushroom sandwich and fried mac and cheese are awesome)
possibly velvet sky bakery for the desserts
favors will be the same, as will mostly everything else!

tote bags! since we are getting the gocco, we can print whatever we want on them! and you can get bulk tote bags for $.60 each. and people can use them to buy groceries etc!

i want to put either an all black outline version of this picture that brian b0nnner made of us right when we first started dating or maybe use two colors. it's so funny and appropriate.
i really like this set by green karat. they are recycled gold. we would get the white gold to match my engagement ring.

i am not sure how to choose the widths so we may need to go to a jeweler to figure that out. i do know i want the narrowest possible.

i think cup cake cafe would be a good place to get my cupcakes!
they have really attractive buttercream flowers on top that i could have them do in white and pink. though i kind of wish we could have lego cupcakes still.

i think jason and i should ride away into the sunset ala kermit and piggy
jason really wants to have kegs at the wedding so i was thinking maybe we could get customized pint glasses as the favors. reusable! and people could use them at the wedding instead of paper/plastic stuff? though i guess that might be kind of messy for them.
According to google maps:
Distance from A/S Subway stop at Beach 116th street to the Beach at 125th street: .5 miles
Distance from Beach to Belle Harbor Yacht Club: .5 miles
Easily walked by 99% of guest list! We can provide transportation for the rest!

LOL!!!

we just got a print gocco today from my pal christina, so we can make our own save the dates and place cards and anything else we need printed for fun or for the wedding. i am excited!
ok so i think i will do half one favor half another. i want one favor to be tiny glass candy jars with a personalized label on the jar with our names and the date or a big S or something. then the other half will be those tiny glass salt and pepper shakers that are square. wrapped in some sort of fabric with a label and ribbon with our names/date of the wedding.
shakers!
shakers!
maybe i will do them in the style of a punk show flyer, silkscreened and all. hey kt don't move away so you can help me. oh wait you're going to grad school. oh fudge.

i think this would be cool for the aisle! and easy to make!
i just received my full 2 year school calendar.
my last day of Spring 09 class is June 14th.
my first day of Summer 09 class is July 26th.
possible wedding weekends:
June 20-21
June 27-28
July 4-5 (probably not)
July 11-12
July 18-19
i think the two bolded dates would probably be best because they give me a little distance between the end of my first year and beginning of my second year. thoughts?

1. A BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOBOOTH!!!
duh, of course. what is more fun than that? however, my research so far tells me it will cost an additional $1000-$3000 for this for 4-5 hour rentals. maybe i should just buy up all the polaroid film i can find and have my friends bring all their cameras with them instead, whoever still has them.
2. A REAL KARAOKE MACHINE!!!
this is probably not that expensive but in the grand scheme of a wedding reception will we really be able to do this. is there time?
3. MARGARITA MACHINE WITH LOLITA* BLOOD ORANGE MARGARITAS!!
lolita frozen blood orange margarita mix is $10/liter. i mean, i assume not everyone or even a lot of people will want frozen margaritas. i am not sure how much one of those slushie machines would cost to rent to keep the margarita frozen and in the right condition. one bottle can make up to 10 margaritas i think, so maybe it wouldn't be that ridiculous if we got 10 bottles or struck up a deal with them to get a bulk amount. but still it's a little silly.
*lolita is a restaurant a few blocks from our house that has unreal frozen blood orange margaritas and they sell the mix at their sister gourmet specialty store across the street for $10 a bottle.
